LC Girls Still Perfect At Home With Win Over Harlan

The Lewis Central girls hosted the Harlan Cyclones (6-4) on Friday night and came away with a victory that extended their conference record to 5-0 and overall record to 8-1. Defense was huge for the Titans as Harlan came into this game averaging 53.4 points a game but the Titans speed and intensity held the Cyclones to only 34 points.
Harlan started off the game with full court pressure but that didn't seem to bother Coach Hanafan and the Titans as they easily built up a lead in the first quarter with strong play from Natalie Madsen and Aubrey Norville. In the second quarter the Titans switched things up by going to a zone defense, but Harlan started to find their rhythm from behind the arc as 3's were hit by Liz Riessen and Taylor Leinen which let the Cyclones back in the game at halftime trailing the Titans only by 5.
The second half was all LC as they switched back to man defense and never let Harlan back in the game. Only having 3 turnovers and only allowing Harlan to score 9 second half points the Titans easily took control of the game. Liz Sieleman continued to grab rebounds as she matched her average for the season with 7 and Aubrey Norville boosted her average of 9.8 points a game with a 17 point performance.
Up next for the Titans is a home game next Friday the 13th against the #5 Glenwood Rams who has handed the Titans their only loss of the season.
