Lewis Central's boys played a great game, but couldn't withstand a third quarter run in route to a 66-57 loss to the Harlan Cyclones in Harlan this past Friday.
Lewis Central started the game with a 17-14 advantage after the first quarter, but Harlan stormed back in the second quarter by outscoring Coach Dan Miller's squad by ten points.
The third quarter started hot for the Titans. They blazed out of the locker room scoring the first 7 points of the second half and tying the game at 29. Unfortunately for the Titans, that would be the last time they came that close to taking the lead. Harlan went on a tear, outscoring Lewis Central 15-2 in a decisive run that would lead them to a their first victory in the last three conference games.
Lewis Central got a great game from Darius McCarthur, who led the Titans with 20 points and going 9-18 from the field. Josiah Shepard was the only other Titan in double figures, netting 10 points and hitting 5/6 from the free throw line.
LC is back to action this Friday night heading down I-29 to face rival Glenwood.
